Overview

This is intended as a guide to deploy Lit Protocol Datil Mainnet nodes (and provision hosts on OVH and Leaseweb for that purpose)

Staking a node is documented in Datil Mainnet Node Onboarding Guide

If you already have a node on an old network and need/want to migrate it to a new network, see

Manzano / Habanero → Datil Node Upgrade Guide

Create your Staker Wallet and send the address to the Lit Team so they can send you tokens for staking

The Staker Wallet is an ethereum wallet you will use for staking with the node. This wallet will be able to stake and join, or unstake and leave on behalf of your node. We recommend a ledger connected to metamask. You should share this wallet address with Lit as soon as you’ve generated it, so that we can send your Lit Tokens for staking purposes. When you withdrawal your staking rewards, they will be deposited into this address.

Provision your Machine

❗Only machines physically located in Eastern North America datacenters (East Canada, US East) can participate in this network❗

OVH

Leaseweb

Prepare your machine for the Lit Network

A. Find your Host and Guest VM IP and gateway

B. Prepare for install

C. Install Lit OS

Share your node information with the Lit Protocol Team

Collect the following information about your node (from what you supplied to lit-node-deploy earlier) and share it with the Lit team. You can send an email to [email protected] or a DM to our shared node ops channel.

  provider:
  provider_class:
  host_ip:

Stake and Join your node to the network

Congratulations, your machine is now prepared to participate as a lit node, the next guide will allow you to onboard to the network:
